New pilot program in Fenelon encourages people to become Active Again

Would you like to try a new sport or activity but just don’t know where to start? Or do you need a program that helps with special needs you may have? There is a now a new low-cost program that can help you be Active Again. The new pilot program being run in Fenelon Falls will enable City of Kawartha Lakes residents to try various recreational activities in a comfortable environment with other participants who may require an ‘adaptive’ or modified approach to participating.

Fees to flow in even without water/sewer connection in Kawartha Lakes

Elmslie said while he backed the Fenelon Falls pilot project, “I never really liked what we did with this whole thing, charging people for services they don’t get.” He said he realizes those affected will ultimately benefit from the municipal services, the requirements the city has implemented may not have been the best route to take.

Harvest Happenings and Grand Opening of Tinkertoy Playspace

On Saturday, October 6th, Fenelon Falls hosted their annual Harvest Happenings event. Additionally, and excitedly, Maryboro Lodge: The Fenelon Museum also had their Grand Opening of the Tinkertoy Playspace. Finally, the Turkey Trot run was also taking place. Fenelon Falls BikeShare Launch [Updated]

Yesterday I was honoured to attend the official launch of the newest way to get about town, the Fenelon Falls BikeShare. The bikes are located beside TSW Lock 34 and were made possible by the hard work and support from, Kawartha Works, The City of Kawartha Lakes, RTO8, the TSW and Enbridge.

Arts & Culture in Ward 3

In terms of my arts involvement, I have been a supporter of The Lindsay Art Gallery, on many issues that have come to council. In addition I work with the group Fenelon Live, whose mandate is to bring Live Performances to our area, an example of a recent success was Simcoe Day and the 1812/14 re-enactment. Also, I am working with a group who wants to bring live outdoor theater performances to the area, and I also work with a group that wants Public Art displays on the street, an example are the hangings on the Fenelon Bridge, and finally, I have long supported the Fenelon Art Gallery and their very important festival held on Labour Day weekend.
